A great way to reduce the size of trash in any household is through the purchase of trash compactors. There are a variety of trash compactors out there, and most of them easily fit into a cabinet space similar to the way dishwashers often do. These nifty machines can crush and compact huge quantities of garbage and thus can help save lots of room in the garbage pail. Though the scope of how these machines work is beyond the nature of this article, they are nonetheless quite useless without the bags that go with them. Trash compactor bags are often huge and a bit different from typical garbage bags, and in this article a few different brands will be reviewed.
Let’s start with the scope of General Electric brand trash compactor bags. First up is General Electric’s twelve-pack of twelve-inch bags for Monogram trash compactors. These durable bags are designed for Monogram trash compactors only and are expected to last for about three months, or one bag a week. Next up is General Electric’s fifteen-inch bags that fit most trash compactors that are fifteen inches wide. It doesn’t matter whether the compactors are round or rectangular, and they utilize the best of the Slip-N-Grip feature that helps to assure that the bag itself won’t slip inside the machine. General Electric has a couple of more bag styles that are also worth checking out.
The second brand of trash compactor bags to be reviewed here are by Frigidaire. Frigidaire’s primary bags are of the fifteen-inch variety, meaning that they will fit any compactor machine that is fifteen inches wide. It does not matter whether or not the machine is of a rectangular or round variety, since these bags like many others will naturally fit into the mold of the machine. It also does not matter if the machine is a Frigidaire or not, since these bags will fit any trash compactor built by General Electric, Whirlpool, Broan, etc… Frigidaire does not make many other types of trash compactor bags, and these may well be the only brand they are currently selling.
The third brand of trash compactor bags to be reviewed here are by Broan, and Broan produces more varieties than Frigidaire. First up are the fifteen-inch bags. The fifteen-inch bags are the most common bags and are produced by most vendors, simply because the fifteen-inch trash compactors are the most common machines. The Broan variant of these bags, however, is designed to fit mostly Broan trash compactors. Broan also makes twelve-inch compactors; therefore they also feature a twelve-inch bag variety. Obviously, the twelve-inch bags fit best with the twelve-inch machines. These bags are durable and should at least last three weeks, at about one bag a week.
Other brands of trash compactor bags that are a bit common are those varieties made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool currently features more varieties of compactor bags than most other brands, including those designed for compactors with widths of eighteen inches. Whirlpool also produces a paper bag variety that is far more biodegradable than the plastic types, making for a better environmentally-safe product. Another variety of compactor bags made by Whirlpool that appears to be differ from other brands is their odor-absorbing variety.
All in all, there are a variety of bags to choose from. Many are similar in style and function, though they may come in different quantity packs and may have certain price differences. A bit of research is beneficial in choosing the best bags to fit your trash compactor needs.
